Raman spectrum of molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe2)

The MoTe2 Raman spectrum shows a single prominent peak at approximately 233cm-1, corresponding to an in-plane E12d mode.


The intensity of this mode increases with decreasing thickness.


The other two modes visible are one at 173cm-1, corresponding to an out-of-plane A1g and at 289cm-1, corresponding to an B12g mode.
